What’s the Board Games & Philosophy Club (BGPC)?

The BGP Club meets once a week to play board games (broadly construed)! After the game, players chat about the ideas, insights, and questions that the games we play express or illustrate. Most weeks you’ll choose from a selection of games, while a few sessions bring everyone together for whole‑room play. In our page, you’ll find information about the organizers, participation, a calendar for our meetings, the games we’ll have on roster, and much more! Join our GroupMe chat for announcements and information here.

Announcements 09/23

Our Sept 23 meeting will be held in Balz Library between 4:00 and 6:15 pm.

Meetings Calendar

Meetings are held weekly, mostly at UVA’s Multicultural Student Center, with occasional exceptions (marked with «*» on the date column). “Guided play” is our usual format, where groups gather around one of the available games, play it, and then debrief together. “Whole-room play” means everyone plays the same game. “Free play” offers a broader selection. The debrief is the time allotted for discussion, but it can start early or continue afterward if players are willing. Meeting time is always 5:00 pm, unless the announcement for that week says otherwise.
